I’m back! For a brief HELLO post! During my little blog break, my website decided to go down! A couple of times. Ugh. š«¤ This technology stuff is not for the faint of heart! I have the site back up for the moment and thought I’d let you, my sweet BLOG BUDDIES, know that I’m alive and well.
I write these little Blog Posts when I feel “inspired” by a blog-worthy creative thought. Since my last post, I’ve been so DOGGONE BUSY Iāve not had many contemplative moments or reflection time to jot down anything inspirational. HA! Travel to and from Idaho and Washington, appointments, some scheduled friend and family dates, birthday celebrations, my church class, exercise class, walk with Tony, etc. Gotta rest up from all this exhausting retirement stuff! š
Iāve been dabbling (and dabbing) with my watercolors here and there in my Sunshine Shedā¦so fun! Last week I had an obsession to paint (WITHOUT a tutorial to guide me) a sunflower pic from a photo I took in Germany several years ago (similar to the pic used on my Blog site!). Results below are not particularly satisfying, BUT, Iām learning so much along the way! I’m like a first grader learning to readā¦determined to get past āDick and Janeā to chapter books! Still finding much joy in learning, so Iāll just keep going!
Here are some other random pics from the past few months…kind of a “one and done” facebook post with captions.
I painted SEVERAL cards, fun short little projects that give me (and hopefully the recipients!) a smile.
Hereās a couple of wedding āgift cardsā to accompany the presents:
Hereās a get well card for my sister-in-law:
My friend Becky got two cards. One when I visited her in the hospital for her DOUBLE knew replacement read, āMay you be up and “kickin’ around” again soon.ā (Get it?: boots, kickin’) š And then obviously a birthday card, and a fun visit at her house with our buddies Connie and Cindy!
Speaking of birthdays! My son Jared turned 45!š¤©. His sister Jaydi and I had lunch with him. I painted him a card, but forgot to bring it š¤Ŗā¦so I sent him a pic later!
Marshall couldnāt make it Jaredās birthday lunch, so a few days later Mama brought a coffee and a protein bar to his work, and he serenaded me on the guitar!
One of Tony and my almost daily activities is to take a walk through our adjacent field and then on the trail along the McKenzie River behind Riverbend Hospital. We are never disappointed by Godās creation and beauty and the birds that greet us!
And, speaking of glorious, today is Maundy Thursday (the day Jesus Christ washed his disciples feet at His last Passover meal and instituted the Lordās Supper), tomorrow is Good Friday (the day He chose to lay down His life via crucifixion on the cross for the forgiveness of sins for all who believe in Him)ā¦and then, Sunday is Easterā¦ Resurrection Day, celebrating when Jesus rose from the dead, demonstrating that He is ALIVEā¦and that there IS eternal life after death! Glorious indeed!
Here are two of my favorite Bible verses that are my TRUE inspiration in present life, and my hope for my inevitable death some day:
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’ John 11:25-26
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
Happy Easter, dear ones!
Danaā¦
Love š your blogā¦
āHappy Resurrection Day on Sunday!
I really like your water color paintings
And seeing the different mediums you have picked ā¦.
Thanks for showing us the art you have created!!!!
It sure brightened up my dayš
Thanks Kit! Blessings to you!!! Hope to see you in October!! š
Dana – good job on the watercolors…if you are in the “Dick and Jane” phase you are probably seeing a lot of “run spot, run….”
Ha, Kent! Yes, lots of runs and spots in watercolor!!! Thanks for stopping by the olā blog!!!
Hi Friend, I have missed you, your cheery blog and your inspiring words. Now to confess…..I am jealous that you are progressing with your watercolor art. I can’t seem to make time for it. I walk by and see my cart fully of supplies and think what a waste. You encourage me to actually be purposeful and make time to develop my skills. Thank you my “Sunshiny Friend”.
Cookie!! Thank you! I donāt really feel like Iām progressing much, but I am learning lots! Come on! Make time for yourself! š
Love this !
Thanks, Linda!!!
Easter Blessings! And, Go Marshall, Rock On!!!! š
Back atcha, Cathy!
